Computer Virus

A computer virus is a malicious software program loaded onto a user's computer without the user's knowledge and performs malicious actions. It can self-replicate, inserting itself onto other programs or files, infecting them in the process .

The above written definition is the most basic knowledge people have about computer viruses.

Most people believe that all types of malwares are viruses whether it's Trojans, Computer worms, Spyware or Ransomware are viruses and have the similar functions but that's not true. In fact all of these have different disfunction and disadvantages on our devices.

For example : A Trojan horse, or Trojan, is a type of malicious code or software designed to damage, disrupt, steal, or in general inflict some other harmful action on your data or network whereas  Worms, can modify and delete files, and they can even inject additional malicious software onto a computer. A worm's basic function is to replicate it self over and over again and delete system files.

Just like that, Spyware gathers your personal information and relays it to advertisers, data firms, or external users whereas, Ransomware is a type of malicious software cybercriminals use to block you from accessing your own data. The digital extortionists encrypt the files on your system and add extensions to the attacked data and hold it “hostage” until the demanded ransom is paid.

So in this way, all sort of malwares have their own functions and we can't even take one of these lightly and that we should have knowledge on each of these so that you can the next time that which type of malware has entered your system.
